In response to the shocking allegations of police brutality against advocate Varinder Singh, the Punjab and Haryana Bar Council has declared a strike until September 29, 2023. The legal community is demanding the arrest of the police officials involved in the alleged attack and is calling for the transfer of the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Advocates across Punjab and Haryana have expressed their outrage and solidarity with Varinder Singh, who is fighting for justice in the face of alleged police misconduct. The strike has disrupted legal proceedings in the region, as lawyers have joined forces to protest against the brutality and demand accountability.

The Bar Council’s decision to strike underscores the gravity of the allegations and the legal community’s commitment to upholding the rights and safety of its members. It also reflects the deep concern about ensuring a fair and impartial investigation into the incident.

As the strike continues, pressure mounts on authorities to take swift action against the accused police officials and to ensure a transparent and unbiased inquiry into the matter. The legal fraternity’s demand for the involvement of the CBI in the investigation highlights the need for an independent and credible probe into the alleged misconduct.
