Recently, the Delhi High Court granted an interim bail of three weeks so that the co-accused could care for his pregnant live-in partner. The aforementioned couple is accused of infidelity.

The Bench of Justice Poonam A. Bamba noted that, aside from the accused’s elderly grandparent, there is no one to care for the pregnant girl, who could give birth at any time.

In this case, a FIR was filed against the accused couple under sections 419, 420, and 668 of the Indian Penal Code and for possessing counterfeit RAW and IB IDs.

The defendant argued before the court that his live-in partner was in the final stages of pregnancy and could give birth at any time, and that his grandparents, who are 90 years old, are unable to care for her.

He added that he is the only person who can care for her and that, if granted bail, he will not interfere with the trial.

The Court was also informed that the charge sheet had been filed, and that the prosecution’s evidence is now scheduled.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted bail to the petitioner and ordered him not to interfere with the trial and to be present when required.

The court also ordered the petitioner to provide his mobile phone number to the investigating officer and to always keep his phone on.
